The vesa standard is the distance between the four mounting holes on the back of the monitor or television. The vesa pattern is measured in millimeters or inches (length x width). Keep in mind 1 inch is equal to 25.4 millimeters.
As an example, if your measurements for your vesa mounts 75 mm vertically by 75 mm horizontally, then your vesa mounting size will be 75 mm x 75 mm.
You can find the distance of your vesa mounting holes by checking online for your monitor or measuring the distance yourself.

- maximum weight your vesa mount can hold

You will want to check the manufacturer’s website to see how much your computer monitors’ weigh and how much weight your wall mounts can handle. You will want to do the same thing for your tv and tv wall mounts.
Vesa mounting standard
It is a similar process to setup a mount for your computer monitor and television, regardless if it is a tv wall mount or monitor wall mount.
Steps
- Most monitors are vesa mounting compatible, but make sure to check the manufacturer’s website to see if your monitor is or not.
- Check your manufacturer’s website to see the monitor size and the size for the vesa pattern.
- You can measure out the vertical distance and horizontal distance using a ruler for the vesa holes to determine the vesa mount size. Remember the vesa mount size is vertical distance x horizontal distance.
- You will be good to go at that point. Just make sure the mount you are potentially buying can support your monitor.
- For a monitor, you probably will not need a wall bracket.

For a tv, you might need a tv brackets or wall brackets depending on how big your tv is.
