The light located in the back of the LCD monitors generate an image through the crystals, so the user is able to see the image on the computer displays.

The quality of the screen matters much more for the image quality than the size of the screen.

Liquid crystal display monitors are light in weight, good to play videogames with, and typically good for visual display. They usually have a good aspect ratio.

Liquid crystal display monitors can either be curved or flat screens and the displays depend on the clarity of the screen. Liquid crystal displays can also be touch screen monitors. They are the standard for office monitors or computers. Now a days, the liquid crystal display monitor is the normal monitor that most people have in their home. As a home setup, it can be a good gaming monitor.

Another type of computer monitors: CRT monitors

CRT or Cathode ray tube monitors are some of the early monitors that are not used as often anymore. Compared to LCD monitors, CRT monitors are not great display devices and not as good power supply, since CRT monitors consume a great amount of electricity.

The cathode ray tube monitor was the first computer monitor. Karl Ferdinand Braun invented the cathode ray tube and CRT technology in 1897. First introduced in as home computer monitors in the 1970s, cathode ray tube monitors were the first computer monitors and modern monitors. Unlike, lcd monitors, CRT monitors do not have curved monitors or touch screen monitors. CRT monitors have flat panels.
